  1. Tuition is charged for coursework on a per study period basis. 
  2. Total tuition for 12-month tracks and 21-month tracks are payable via 3 and 4 study periods respectively.
  3. Cost per study period can change each academic year (above figures assume a 3% increase effective 01 August each year)
  4. The internship study period incurs no cost.
  5. Deferral of admission will incur tuition fees at the prevailing rate

CMU-A Academic Merit Scholarships

Available for: All programs except Global programs.  Global programs are awarded academic merit scholarships by Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

Scholarship value: 10% - 40% of total tuition

How to Apply 

The application assessment process for admission into Carnegie Mellon University in Australia assesses both the applicant's strength for entrance into the program, while simultaneously assessing merit for a scholarship or award.

When lodging your program application simply tick the scholarship application box when you apply. Scholarships are only awarded once a completed, eligible application is submitted. Confirmation of the scholarship value will be provided at the time of offer into the program.

CMU-A Strategic Partner Scholarship Program

Available for: All programs except Global programs.  

Scholarship value: Varies

Carnegie Mellon University in Australia has partnered with industry and university to provide financial support to their members/students in order to help reduce the cost of attending graduate school. Admitted students who are affiliated with our partners will be awarded a scholarship from Carnegie Mellon University in Australia.

Australia Awards

Available for: Program eligibility is dependent on participating countries priority areas which can include Public Policy and Information Technology (exclude Global programs).

Application deadline for study in 2018

Participating Countries in Africa

Applications open 1 September 2016  and close 15 September 2016.

Bangladesh

Applications open 15 September 2016  and close 18 November 2016.

All other participating countries 

Applications open 1 February 2017  and close 30 April 2017.

The Australia Awards Scholarships are administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. They provide opportunities for people from developing countries, particularly those countries located in the Indo-Pacific region, to undertake full time undergraduate or postgraduate study at participating Australian universities and TAFE institutions. Carnegie Mellon University Australia programs, Master of Science in Public Policy and Management (MSPPM) and Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) are both eligible and suited for the Award. Carnegie Mellon University Australia has received many Australia Awardees into both programs.

Scholarship recipients will gain knowledge and skills that they can apply to the development of their home country upon completion of their study. Scholarships include full tuition, return economy airfares, a contribution to living expenses and basic medical insurance.

Colombia - COLFUTURO

Available for: Master of Science in Public Policy and Management and Master of Science in Information Technology

Scholarship Value: Students who receive a loan from COLFUTURO will receive a partial scholarship from CMU-A.

Endeavour Awards

Applications for the 2018 round are expected to open in April 2017. Please check the Endeavour Scholarship and Fellowships website closer to April 2016 for further information.

The Endeavour Scholarships are part of the Australian Government’s internationally competitive, merit-based scholarship program enabling citizens of the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Europe and the Americas to undertake study, research or professional development in Australia.

Guatemala - GuateFuturo

Available for: Master of Science in Public Policy and Management and Master of Science in Information Technology 

Scholarship Value: Students who receive loan from GUATEFUTURO  will receive a partial scholarship from CMU-A.

Philippines - CHED-CMU Scholarship Program

The Philippines’ Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has forged a partnership with Carnegie Mellon University in Australia to expand opportunities for qualified faculty and staff to pursue graduate studies abroad during the K to 12 transition period. 

The scholarships are available on a competitive basis for Filipino faculty and staff of Philippine Higher Education Institutions to study the Master of Science in Public Policy and Management and Master of Science in Information Technology at Carnegie Mellon University in Australia.  

Applications are now open for January 2018 intake. Application deadline is September 29, 2017.

US Financial Aid

The Office of Financial Aid in Pittsburgh provides assistance to U.S. students in securing the financial means to pursue higher education. The goal is to educate students about their financial rights and responsibilities to enable them to make informed decisions about their educational funding and to encourage responsible borrowing and repayment practices.

Available to: Students who have successfully completed a bachelor degree, have received a VIED scholarship from the Vietnam International Education Development
