Adelaide entrepreneur talks to students on disruptive innovation and digitization

Data and using it to deliver insights is the key to building the new economy according to Adelaide entrepreneur Kirk Drage who is a passionate advocate for start-ups.

Kirk visited Carnegie Mellon University last Friday to deliver a lecture on the New Economy for the Masters of Information Technology students in the Digital Transformation course.

In his presentation he told students that the employment and business opportunities of the future will come from disruptive innovation.

“It’s no longer sufficient to just sustain innovation whereby companies simply respond to customer feedback, he told the 60 Masters of Science in Information Technology students.

“Successful companies must embrace data and digitize. The jobs in the new economy will be in data analytics, digital transformation, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Kirk is the Adelaide City Entrepreneur-in-Residence and CEO of Leapsheep, working with business achieve hyper growth in the New Economy.
