The Head of Carnegie Mellon University Australia Emil Bolongaita recently featured in Adelaide's daily metropolitan newspaper, The Advertiser, to share his views on how the US recovers from the January 6 riots in Washington DC.
Professor Bolongaita described the distressing scenes as the ‘gravest threat to democracy in the US since civil war ravaged the country more than a century and a half ago’.
“Already battling the health and economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic, how the US responds to the recent assault on democracy will affect the trajectory of the rest of the world for years to come,” he says.
