Industry Projects

Carnegie Mellon University in Australia's students are involved in a range of industry-based projects with both government and private organisations during their studies.

Information Systems Project

Catered for MSIT students, the Information Systems Project takes you beyond theory into the practical application of skills through the opportunity to work with public and private companies, government agencies on real-world projects. The goal of these projects is to provide you with the skills necessary for structuring, managing, and carrying out information systems projects within an organisation.

The project provides the opportunity for you to consolidate and apply the skills and knowledge developed in previous coursework in a team-based approach to a real problem. You will be part of a student team who will work with a real-world client on a real-world problem of value to the client. Most important, this is an opportunity to apply the team's advanced engineering and management skills, including the specialised knowledge and skills needed to solve a real problem. In particular, yourself and team members must learn to work effectively with clients, quickly understand their problem, negotiate deliverables and then select, adapt and apply just the right amount of process and documentation to meet clients' needs and effectively manage the project.
