5 Major Visa Changes to help International Students study in Australia20th July 2020
An exchange semester in Pittsburgh will enable you to continue your rigorous professional development while pursuing complementary courses within the broader context of Carnegie Mellon University and Heinz College.
Students enrolled in the 21-month MSIT and MSPPM programs may participate in the exchange program for one semester, either in the Fall (4th semester) or Spring (5th semester).
To be eligible, you must be in good financial standing with the university and have a cumulative QPA of 3.35 or higher.
Please note that students are NOT eligible to apply for the USA post study work visa (F1/OPT) after attending an exchange semester in Pittsburgh.
- employment off campus during or after your term on exchange as an F-1 visa student is not possible.
- students are permitted to work on-campus for Carnegie Mellon up to 20 hours/week during their term on exchange.
- students enrolled in the 21-month MSIT and MSPPM programs (including those participating in the exchange program) are not permitted to transfer to the Pittsburgh campus to complete their master’s degree.
Exchange in the Fall (August) semester - March 15th
Exchange in the Spring (January) semester - May 31st
